Pop-off pressures are (don't quote me on this) around 1300-1700lbs. for most diesel engines IIRC, so they can get a little noisy, especially when it's cold out. Got a 2011 lml with 110k on it. deleted with flo pro exhaust. everytime I hit the gas or let off gas I get a ticking noise. sounds like an exhaust tick when you shut truck off and its cooling down. if I ease into throttle nothing. but if I hit gas normally or hard its loud. usually multiple ticks. so I far I pulled driveshaft.The noise usually is most noticeable at the rear of the driver's side front wheel well. What you are describing is the common type writer tick. Very common after an oil change. Basically you get some air trapped in the lifter oil passage and it takes a bit of time for it to work out. When my LMM does it it takes 30 to 50 miles for it to clear up. Apr 12, 2013 · Truck developed a ticking noise shortly after. The noise seems to be on the drivers side to the rear of the engine. Sounds loudest in the wheel well. Its not really loud but I can hear it from several feet away. The only other thing I have noticed is a slight vibration in my foot on the throttle that is only present when going about 45 mph. No its not hurting it. You can try & find another oil brand thatll maybe reduce the tick noise, or you just live with it. I use Rotella T in my LMM & Mobil Delvac Super in the LML.
